Random Post: Troski Tale
Today I was heading home from work, in a troski, when something unexpected happened. For those of you wondering, troski, or trotro, is Ghana's (questionable) version of a public transport system, and the stem of many good stories. I remember one time when I took a trotro somewhere, and the mate (conductor) miscalculated the change he gave to a lady passenger. This made her so mad she told the driver to stop the bus, so she could fight the mate. Funny thing is, if I had to bet, I'd have bet on the woman winning that fight - she looked mean as hell.

A Case For Copying
Why?
Because people feel they are above that, but they really shouldn't. Take the latest Apple event. Apple is a great company; They make fantastic products, are very profitable and worth a ridiculous bunch of money. Samsung? Apple is worth more than four Samsungs. Google? Microsoft? Apple's worth more than the two combined. Intel? You'd have to triple Intel's net worth to come close to Apple. So it's safe to say they're ahead of the competition. After their latest event however (their announcement of the iPad pro, iPhone 6s, 6s Plus), everybody was focusing on how most of the new features they announced were already present in other competitors' devices. Not to mention how they always seemed to be doing just that; hang back, implement an already existing feature and boom, success! Now that just makes people mad. But I'm here to remind you why they're successful anyway, and what you should take from them.Friday, 11 September 2015

Hey folks, another week, another spot down IMDb’s top 250 list. At this rate, we have... only 247 weeks more to go! Yes. I am now realizing this. Damn. I should have given this more thought. Well, I might as well just go ahead get over with this review. Alright, this week it’s David Fincher’s Gone Girl, which was adapted from Gillian Flynn’s best-selling novel of the name. It has a score of 8.2, and sits at #156 on the list.

A Case For Your Average Idea
Why?
Because the world runs on average, boring ol’ ideas too. Perhaps more importantly, too many of us are running in the opposite direction of success. Here’s why: Anyone hoping to ride on the idea train to success I guarantee will inevitably be searching for the multi-million dollar one, i.e., the idea that has a carry-on overflowing with money. You know, like Google. Or maybe a phone with ten SIM cards, or a car that runs on milk. Okay, maybe not those last two. In any case, when they stumble on that idea which isn’t mind-blowing, or is only just about different from something that already exists, they throw it away. So basically the streets are littered with these average ideas, and that cannot stand.
IMDb Top 250 Journey: Mad Max Fury Road
Anyone looking to get into movies has
most likely heard of IMDb's Top 250: a list of what the site's users
consider to be the best movies ever made. Yes I know, it is a hugely flawed
list, but it's the best starting point for anyone with a
developing taste in movies. Why? Because it is a surprisingly good
measure of how likely you are to enjoy a movie. In any case, I will be
reviewing every movie on the list, and you are invited to tag along
with me. Let's see how good this list really is. Alright, I will be starting
from the most recent member on the list, which is Mad Max Fury Road at
#103, and a score of 8.3. Let's do this.
